This month’s Daring Baker’s Challenge was cream puffs. I’m not going to go into tremendous detail about this challenge, because it was a complete and utter
I tried two different recipes and, after the second one failed, I just decided to not try again. Ingredients were being wasted and I’m not such a fan of that.
Here are pictures of the first disaster and a link to the recipe I used:
The recipe can be found here: http://myedenkitchen.blogspot.com/2007/06/sweeties.html

Oh, well. I’m going to close the books on this challenge and look forward to what will hopefully be a more successful September challenge.
I hope everyone has a great Labor Day tomorrow!

Aw, I’m sorry this challenge didn’t work out for you… It didn’t quite go so well for me either! At least you tried your best, right?

Oh no…
I completely understand not wanting to waste any more ingredients. Sorry this one didn’t work. Next month will, of course, be better!

I’m so sorry about your éclair drama! I *promise* it’ll be another story next challenge!

Awwww…I am sorry! I bet they tasted good, even if they didn’t look great (and honestly, I don’t think they look all that bad!)! I hate wasting ingredients too, though, so I know how you feel–what a waste

Sorry it didn’t work out for you! But I voted for you for the cupcake challenge!

Sorry to hear about the challenge being a flop. The “failure” poster picture did make me smile though. I have joined the challenge, so it will be interesting to see if I can bake what they throw at me. Hope you have a terrific holiday weekend.

So srry to hear this challenge didn’t work out for you. I think vegan eclairs are pretty finicky. At least you tried!!

Shit, that’s too bad.
Apparently there are some things that aren’t as veganizeable. At least you tried though!

Oh, I so hate to waste food too. Now I see why you thought mine were fantastic.
But Jenny, I used the same recipe you did for the second eclairs, so somehow I was luckier.
Anyway, whenever I have an unsatisfying challenge, I always look forward the clean slate of the following month!

That’s too bad! It is frustrating. But I figure, having some failures just means we’re trying new things.

The second attempt didn’t look so bad. And, I’m sure they tasted fine. Oh no– that’s SOOOO frustrating (even more so when you’re actually following someone’s recipe instead of just winging it). Better luck next time!

I am sorry this didn’t work out for you! I hear you on wasting ingredients, I would have felt bad about that too. But I think this challenge was really difficult. Maybe next time the will choose a recipe that is not so egg-ladden?
