Unfortunately, I have little to report about this past weekend. My mother-in-law visited on Saturday and she treated my family to both lunch and dinner, so I didn’t cook anything that day at all (which, honestly, makes me a little sad). I spent my free time (i.e. my daughter’s nap time) on Sunday working on the July Daring Baker’s Challenge so that I could finish it in time to serve it at my brother-in-law’s birthday party last night. So, other than heating up a Tofurky Kielbasa for lunch on Sunday, I didn’t cook anything that day, either. My sister, though, made a vegan lasagna for the party and it was great! My family is so supportive and I think they really enjoy trying vegan items, too!
Hopefully I will have a few items to post tomorrow and I’m also going to work on my entry for the 28 Cooks Behind the Apron event. I hope everyone had a great weekend filled with lots of food, good times, and cool beverages (the heat was ridiculous, wasn’t it?).

my parents visited on saturday and took us out to lunch, too! then dan & i got lazy and ordered pizza (sans cheese) for dinner! not a lot of cooking on my end either this weekend – sometimes it’s kinda nice to take a little break though.
that’s so awesome of your sister to make a vegan lasagna – and even more awesome that it was so great! that’s wonderful that your family is so supportive – i find that mine is, too! makes things a lot easier sometimes, for sure!
can’t wait to see your creaton from the Daring Baker’s Challege – and your Behind the Apron post on 28 Cooks, too!
